AfdelingThe Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Engines group within DAF Engine Development is responsible for engine development related simulation methods. The CAE Engines group gives computational simulation support to the other engine groups in the fields of Strength, Vibration, Flow and Combustion. The CAE Engines group is also responsible for development of several engine systems.

As System Owner you are responsible for the system behaviour and the resulting customer values like reliability, fuel consumption, service-ability while balancing total system cost. Additional tasks involve system technology watch, initiation of advanced technology projects, competitor study and benchmarking. For this position it concerns the low pressure fuel system.
In the project definition phase the System Owner is responsible for historical data analysis, book of wishes evaluation, Project Description Book input, requirements definition, Technical Design Specification, proof of concept criteria, timing and budgeting of subsystem development in relation to total project scope.
In the engineering phase you are responsible for Design For Six Sigma deliverables, system design reviews, on- and off-board diagnosis, system performance verification and monitoring, maintenance requirements and End Of Line-testing.
You work in close cooperation with component specialists and the Engine Integration and Validation group. You also support service and operations in their activities.
As System Analyst, you give support to the engineering groups in the field of fluid system performance. You predict and analyze system behaviour. You determine component specification requirements and operating conditions from overall system targets. Your analyses and experience deliver an important input in the continuous improvement of new generations of PACCAR-engines. You work in close cooperation with both component specialists and testing engineers.
For this position we are looking for candidates who have experience with system level engineering or simulation, preferably in a product design environment. We are looking for candidates with a Master degree in Engineering or Physics. You consider geometrical constraints as a challenge. You are proactive and enthusiastic and have strong communication skills, in both Dutch and English. Technical know-how and the ability to get to the core of issues efficiently and pragmatically is the keys to success in this function.
